die LUCAS die is an experimental/dark comedy that was conceived and shot on location in New Jersey. The story follows three Star Wars fans that have grown up in Jersey and are now dissolutioned with the new Star Wars trilogy, George Lucas and the marketing juggernaut that has taken over the original, simple movie.
die LUCAS die is about filmmaking, growing up in Jersey and videogames as much as it is about Star Wars or George Lucas. It was written, directed and edited on a modest budget back in 1998; just before the 2nd trilogy was released.
Since then, the new Star Wars franchise has gone on to win as many new fans as it has lost. As predicted by die LUCAS die, Star Wars would continue to influence and warp the minds of its devoted fans to the point that they cannot see the new trilogy films for what they really are...flops.
die LUCAS die was never publicly screened at any festivals or by any distributors. Only a handful of those close to the production have seen a final cut. Commercially, it remains a failure beyond criticism.
